
Daniella Carvalho, soprano, is a native of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She received her Masters and Bachelors Degrees in voice, studio of Edith Bers, from Manhattan School of Music. Her performances include: Mimi in La Bohême, Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro, D. Elvira in Don Giovanni, 2nd Lady in The Magic Flute, Manuela in the Zarzuela Luis Alonso, Belinda in Dido and Aeneas, Suzel in L'Amico Fritz, Nedda in Pagliacci, Liu in Turandot, Primma Donna in Ariadne auf Naxos, Violeta in La Traviata. Her Oratorio appearances include Soprano Soloist in Pergolesi's Stabat Mater, Vivaldi's Gloria, Strawinsky’s Cantata, Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb, Vivaldi’s Magnificat and Scarlatti’s Salve Regina.
Her New York Debut Recital as a Winner of the Artists International at Weill Hall, Carnegie Hall, was in February 2003, and again at their Alumni Series in February 2005. Some of the conductors with whom she has worked include Kevin McMahon, Steven Osgood, Fritz Maraffi, Richard Barret, Kathy Carthcart, Julio Moretson, Keneth Cooper, Will Crutchfield , Stefano Vignati; and has participated in master classes with such artists as Mya Besslik, Maria Venutti, Helen Donath, Silvia Stone and Charles Ricker. Daniella has appeared on stages in Milan, Rome, Salzburg, the United States, and Brazil; and on Radio Stations such as WNYC and Columbia University Radio, both in New York, and Radio MEC, Jornal do Brazil, and Cultura in Brazil. Her engagements in 2005 include: D.Elvira in Don Giovanni (Concert) at Theatro Municipal in Rio de Janeiro with the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra, Aeosop’s Fables and cover of La Serva Padrona at the Maud Powell Festival and recitals in New York and Brazil.
