 The Tscheppe family has been crafting wines for six generations. Wines which reflect one of Austria´s most stunningly beautiful wine regions, the Südsteiermark, or South Styria. Here, soaring hillside vineyards straddle the southern border of the country, where a wine culture actually has been thriving since ancient Celtic and Roman times.
Today, brothers Stefan and Eduard Tscheppe continue their family’s own long wine-making tradition at their 90 acre estate in Pössnitz, but are infusing it with particular talents and style that are helping to define the wines of South Styria in the 21st century. By constantly listening to the terroir of their sites, such as the Pössnitzberg and Czamillonberg, the Tscheppes capture the optimal character of each vineyard – each grape variety – and reveal them clearly in the bottle.
Being one of the founders of the Young Austrian Winemakers Society and consulting other Austrian vineyards Stefan Tscheppe has always set his goals towards innovation. In the late 90s he traveled Asia, seeking opportunities in this upcoming market. Always keeping in touch with the marketplace, Stefan Tscheppe is known for his strong relations to the restaurant and food industry all over Europe.
